FORT KENT, Maine – The Fort Kent Rotary Club will offer scholarships to two young adults, ages 18 to 35 interested in attending RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards).
RYLA participants receive training from successful professionals, with special emphasis on leadership and the importance of ethics and community service.
Skills that you will develop as a leader such as, build communication and problem-solving skills; discover strategies for becoming a dynamic leader in your school/community; increase self-confidence and self-esteem; learn from community leaders, inspirational speakers, and peer mentors; gain exposure to a variety of issues, cultures and people; unlock your potential to turn motivation into action; to have fun and form lasting friendships; and learn about Rotary International and potentially to join the Fort Kent Rotary Club.
The leadership program will be held from Friday, September 13 through Sunday, September 15, at Adventure Bound in Caratunk.
Both scholarships awarded will cover two nights lodging, all meals, reimbursement of gas receipts, leadership program and whitewater rafting. Individuals need to provide their own transportation to Caratunk.
