Stop vulgar political advertising

To the editor:

I have noticed an uptick in vulgar language in the political signage of certain candidates.  As Presque Isle is a small town with young, but literate, children scattered among the neighborhoods, is this of concern to affected families?

That the candidate in question has normalized any number of previously unwelcome behaviors is perhaps leading us in this unfortunate direction. Could we please ask for a modicum of courtesy in a particularly argumentative election season?  Children are watching.

We can ask.  I can only imagine the potential response.
