What can we say? Our golf course is in the best playing condition that we can remember, and some of our members have memories like elephants. The grounds crew has continued to do an excellent job in maintenance of the course. Come on out to the golf course and see for yourselves. And while you’re there, why not play a round?
Several couples showed up Friday night for the scramble and all had a good time enjoying the light competition and making new friends. Coming this Sunday will be our July Jamboree. It will start at 8 a.m. and run all day. The format will be four-person four ball. You can sign up your foursome, play anytime Sunday, turn in your card and all computations will be done for you. Call the proshop at 532-2662 for more information.
On Sunday July 30, we will hold our second mixed scramble for Golf for Life players and members. It will be nine holes with teams picked from all those who sign up. It is open to everyone and hor’dourves will be served after. Sign up in clubhouse or call soon as this was a very popular event.
On Saturday, Aug. 12, the County Open will begin with the 18-hole stroke play tournament at HCGC. On Sunday, Aug. 13, the action moves to the 18 hole scramble held at VaJoWa in Island Falls. Both events will benefit the Houlton Regional Hospital.
Our Club Championship / Presidents Cup will be held In late August and that will be be followed by the Babe Caron Memorial member-guest over Labor Day weekend. This will limited to 32 teams so sign up early.
