Lowman receives service dog

PRINCETON, Mass. — NEADS/Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans has announced that Jacquelyn (Jacqui) Lowman, of Washburn, has been matched with a service dog named Saint.
Saint was trained at a New England correctional facility as part of the NEADS Prison PUP Partnership. Lowman spent nearly two weeks on the NEADS campus learning how to work with the new assistance dog and becoming fast friends.

The Washburn resident and University of Maine at Presque Isle professor will join 20 other teams in graduating at the Courtyard By Marriott in Fitchburg, Mass., on Nov. 21, in front of supporters, friends and members of the NEADS community.
NEADS assistance dog teams are sponsored by caring and generous individuals, corporations and groups that believe independence is important to people with disabilities. NEADS has numerous opportunities for support and contributions: corporate partnerships, assistance dog sponsorships, assistance dog graduations and planned giving options. For these opportunities, please contact: dlaconti@neads.org or call 978 422-9064  ext. 21.
NEADS/Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans is a Massachusetts-based non-profit organization celebrating more than 30 years of helping adults and children who are deaf or physically disabled. Our highly-trained canines enable people to live more independently and with a greater degree of mobility.
