HOULTON, Maine — Houlton Elementary School honored those individuals that volunteered their time to help in classrooms or read with students during the school year.
The guests enjoyed a special video of thanks made by the students assisted by Janet Murakami. Several students read poems that represented their appreciation for the time they spent with the children, while others made decorations for the occasion.
Each attendee also received a small gift for their time. Many volunteers represent the Houlton Rotary Club, while others are family members who have extra time to participate.
