ORONO, Maine — The Carlisle swim team competed in the Penobscot Valley Conference championships at the University of Maine’s Wallace Pool Friday and Saturday.
The girls scored 29 points, good for ninth place in the standings, while the boys totalled five points to take 13th overall.
The team’s highest placement came in the 400-yard freestyle relay as Cassidy Coiley, Alexis Valenca, Riley McNeal and Annicka Benson placed seventh with a 5 minute and 8.72 second clocking.
The Carlisle girls’ team of Coiley, Benson, McNeal and Valenca recorded a time of 2:36.63 to place 10th in the 200-yard medley relay.
Carlisle’s 200 freestyle relay team, consisting of Trinity St. Pierre, Alaina Quinlan, Ahlanda Engstrom and Afton Marker) also placed 10th in 2:46.68.
Coiley was 11th in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:21.95 and 12th in the 100 backstroke in 1:12.28.
For the boys, Jason Bernaiche was eighth in the 100 backstroke thanks to his time of 1:06.77.
