TAMC relocates

Occupational Health and Wellness Services

PRESQUE ISLE — The Aroostook Medical Center has relocated its Occupational Health and Wellness Services (OHWS) from the A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital campus on Academy Street to its North Street Healthcare facility in Presque Isle to better serve the business community.

On July 25, OHWS officially opened at its new North Street location in the part of the building that currently houses TAMC’s Walk-in Clinic, Aroostook Pediatrics and Family Practice/Internal Medicine in the former Smythe’s IGA building. The services are accessed through the same internal entrance as Family Practice/Internal Medicine.

“We are so pleased to be able to now offer our services at a location that will not only be more convenient, but is truly in the heart of the county’s largest commercial district,” said Darcy Kinney, manager of OHWS. “Not only does the move to North Street allow our consumers ample parking and easier access to services, but it places us in downtown Presque Isle, which is very convenient for those who rely on us.”

Nearly 1,000 businesses and self-employed individuals from throughout northern Maine utilize a full complement of services for the workplace including treatment for injuries, worker’s compensation services, pre-employment physicals and fitness for duty exams, drug and breath alcohol testing, job site evaluations, pulmonary function testing, immunizations and more.

In addition, several specialty services are offered by OHWS including Certified Department of Transportation Medical Review Officer and on-site services including health risk assessments, education programs, wellness coaching, screenings, fitness programs and workplace first aid/CPR/AED.

The office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. The service is currently taking on new business clients. For more information, contact Kinney at 768-4568 or e-mail dlkinney@tamc.org.
