    MERRIMACK, NH – Robert K. Johnston, age 56, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2012, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston following a lenghty illness. He was born on July 25, 1956, in Presque Isle. He was the son of Maxine E. (Carter) (Johnston) DiPierro and stepson to Ron DiPierro both of Merrimack, NH, who survive him.
    Robert was a graduate of Presque Isle High School Class of 1975. Prior to his illness, Robert had worked as a contract employee doing newspaper distribution in the Nashua/Merrimack NH areas. He was also a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox.
    In addition to his mother and step-father, his survivors include: his adopted father, Carroll Johnston of Greene, ME; one brother, Bryan Johnston of Caribou; one aunt, Winnifred Beaulieu of Presque Isle; one uncle, Arnold Carter of Winslow. He is also survived by his cousins; among them Cynthia Bartlett of Portland.
    Funeral arrangements were private at the convenience of his family. Donations in memory of Robert may be made to the American Lung Associaiton.
