CARIBOU, Maine — Beauregard Equipment recently marked five weeks in Caribou with a June 10 ribbon cutting ceremony, which included city officials and Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce.
The Scarborough-based company first came to Caribou on May 1 after acquiring Crown Equipment. It is the third Beauregard Equipment branch in Maine, in addition to locations in New Hampshire and Vermont.
Caribou Marketing and Events Coordinator Christina Kane-Gibson said the new business is a good opportunity for the city, adding that they “have been amazing to work with.”
City Manager Dennis Marker said that he looks forward to new opportunities as the business works to expand.
“We had Crown Equipment here for many years,” Marker said, “and they were a great, long-standing company. We hope to see Beauregard Equipment build upon what Crown brought to Caribou as they bring additional product lines to the area. We’re excited for Beauregard and we will continue to support their expansion.”
Business owner John Beauregard said business has been going “exceptionally well,” and that he hopes to grow the business through both expansion and hiring new employees.
If expansion does occur, Beauregard said it would not be at the current 323 Sweden St. location, but that it would still be in the city of Caribou.
“I think Caribou has been very accommodating to the business,” he concluded, “and our time here has been fantastic.”
