PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The 2024 Northern Maine Community College Job Fair, hosted on Thursday, March 28, offered a platform for job seekers across diverse industries to engage with potential employment opportunities. The fair facilitated the connection of nearly 350 job seekers with over 70 employers.
Participating employers represented a broad array of industries, including healthcare, technology, manufacturing, hospitality and government. Their participation underscored the demand for talent across different sectors and highlighted NMCC’s role in bridging the gap between employers and job seekers.
“This year’s job fair was a tremendous success,” stated the event’s lead organizer Cassie Rogeski, NMCC’s Student Support careers specialist. “NMCC recognizes the importance of creating opportunities for our students and the local community to connect with potential employers. Events like these not only bridge the gap between education and employment but also contribute to the economic growth of our region.”
In preparation for the job fair, Rogeski, with the support of JMG, Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce, The Career Center, ACAP and Momentum Aroostook, held the Career Ready Expo, which equipped NMCC students with essential resources such as professional attire, resume reviews, interview preparation, and valuable networking opportunities free of charge. This event bolstered NMCC students’ readiness for the fair.
Participating job seekers are encouraged to respond to a brief survey and share feedback to enhance the job fair for future attendees. The survey is available on the Facebook event page. NMCC extends its appreciation to all participating employers, job seekers, and partners for their contributions to the success of the event.
