Fire destroys Patten business

    PATTEN — Fire destroyed the Patten Auto Body shop early Thursday morning, despite the efforts of volunteer firefighters from Patten, Island Falls, Oakfield, Stacyville, Sherman and Mount Chase. According to reports, firefighters received a 9-1-1 call in the early morning hours Thursday that the business owned by Claude Ouellette was ablaze.
    The garage and attached office building were beyond saving. The building was insured.
