Roope graduates
    CASTINE — Janelle Roope, of Presque Isle, recently received a bachelor of science degree, cum laude,  in marine biology from Maine Maritime Academy (MMA) at the college’s 65th commencement held on Saturday, May 3.  She also received the MMA Parents Association Award and the Maine Maritime Academy Student Citizenship Award. Roope is a graduate of Presque Isle High School.
    Roope was also named to the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement in the second semester of the 2007-2008 academi c year. Students named to the dean’s list earn a grade point average of 3.3 or above on a 4.0 scale.
