Curves of Presque Isle and Houlton will be participating in the Curves Food Drive to benefit local food banks. Last year, the Curves Food Drive collected 11 million pounds of food for local communities all over the world. At the Presque Isle and Houlton locations over 3, 000 pounds of groceries were donated to area food banks.
To celebrate the generosity of the community, Curves is waiving its normal service fee for any new member who brings in a bag of non-perishable groceries and joins between March 1 March 10. Last year, more than 247,940 new members joined during the Curves Food Drive.
Others wishing to donate may drop off non-perishable food items at Curves Monday through Saturday during business hours through the month of March.
“The Curves Food Drive promotion is always exciting,” said Sandra MacCallum, the owner of the clubs. “We have a chance to help so many people at a time when the food banks are lowest, while we assist more women in reaching their fitness and weight-loss goals. It’s a win-win situation for everyone, and we’re very proud to participate.”
With over 10,000 locations worldwide, Curves is the largest fitness franchise and the fastest growing franchise company in history. More than four million women belong to the Curves community.
