TOWNSHIP A RANGE 2 — A Haynesville man escaped serious injury Wednesday morning when his vehicle struck a moose.
According to Sgt. Chad Fuller of the Maine State Police, Jonathan Malone, 25, was driving along U.S. Route 2A around midnight Wednesday in a 2013 Dodge Dart when he struck a cow moose. The animal slammed into the windshield of the vehicle, causing significant damage to the top of the car.
Malone escaped serious injury, but did suffer minor injuries to his forehead. He refused medical treatment and had family transport him to the hospital. Trooper Adam Bell investigated the incident.
