    NEW SWEDEN – Alaine L. Bernier, 66, passed away August 5, 2008, at her residence, while surrounded by her family. She was born September 5, 1941, in Laconia, New Hampshire the daughter of Albert and Lillian (Nelson) Johnson. Alaine worked for many years as a dental assistant and in her spare time enjoyed traveling in her motor home, snowmobiling, and riding ATVs with her husband Raymond and her dog Chi Chi. She was a member of Perkins/Plourde American Legion Post #136 Ladies Auxiliary for thirty five years.
    She is survived by her husband Raymond Bernier Sr. of New Sweden, five children; a son Brian Voisine and his wife Anja of New Sweden, a daughter Lori Plourde of Bangor, a daughter Sandra Plourde and her husband Bill of Laconia, NH, a son Raymond Bernier Jr. and his wife Heidi of Waterville, a daughter Karen Buckland and her husband Chuck of Medina, OH. She is also survived by a sister Adella Johnson of New Sweden, ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her parents. 
    Friends called 2-4 p.m. and 7-8 p.m. Saturday August 9, 2008, at the Lancaster Morgan Funeral, Home 11 Clover St., Caribou. Funeral services were conducted 8 p.m. following the visitation at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at a later date at Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery in Caribou.  In lieu of flowers, friends may make donations in Alaine’s memory to the Northern Maine Veterans’ Cemetery Corporation, P.O.
