Rec soccer league comes to a close

CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department’s soccer program wrapped up recently with six final matches taking place.
Summaries in the third- and fourth-grade Premier League are as follows:


Timbers vs. Galaxy
Galaxy exploded for four goals in the third quarter with Logan Griffeth scoring three times and Alex Belanger adding an assist. One of Griffeth’s goals was a penalty kick. Belanger also scored a goal off a Eyzic McBreairty pass. Jasmine Berry had a scoring chance and made a couple of stops on goal. Jesse Taggett also stopped a few shots on goal to keep it close.
The Timbers went on top of Galaxy early and stayed that way. Sofia Fleury scored her first goal of the season. Other goals were put in by Ashlyn Bouchard and Jude Shea.
Red Bulls vs. Revolution
The Revolution played a great game against the Red Bulls, with it ending in a 1-1 tie. Striker Darian Langille scored the Revolution goal a few minutes into the first quarter. Great hustle by Kaleb Finelli, Konnor Huckins and Mason St. Peter, with big plays from center midfielder Reece Cavagnaro and defensive back Cameron Belanger, keyed the Revs. .
The Red Bulls had some great chances in this game with Anna Jandreau taking some shots on goal.  Romeo Gutierrez showed lots of hustle and controlled the ball very well up and down the field. Landon Tracy again came up with some spectacular saves. Abraham Bouchard, Alex Levesque and the Walton brothers fought hard to the end.
Timbers vs. Red Bulls
Timbers were in charge of this final game of the season. Goals were scored by Keegan Bell, Jude Shea and Dylan Bouchard. Again the entire team’s defense played great in this matchup with Mackenzie Hite, Jayden Fournier and Jace Violette taking control. Timbers went undefeated on the year.
The Red Bulls played their final game of the season with great dedication the entire game. Griffen McNeal was able to break away and find the upper 90 for a goal. Justin and Jacob Walton anchored the midfield with great passing and hustle.
Galaxy vs. Revolution
The Revolution capped off a great season by defeating the Galaxy. Reece Cavagnaro scored on a penalty kick and Mason St. Peter drilled a 10-yard shot off a nice pass from James Cherrier. Great hustle was displayed by Tyra Sterner, Neveah Trombley and Konnor Huckins and good ball control by Darian Langille, Kaleb Finelli and Jaden Picard. Tough defense by Cameron Belanger, Kalvin Chen and Calvin Hersey gave the Revolution its fourth shutout.
Galaxy was again led by its defense with stops, blocks and kickaways from Jasmine Berry, Macie Towson, Ilsah Peterson, Alex Belanger, Jesse Taggett and Logan Griffeth.Galaxy had a few scoring opportunities by Eyzic McBreairty, Jesse Taggett and Logan Griffeth.
Game reports in the fifth- and sixth-grade World League were as follows:
Real Madrid vs. Manchester United
First-half goals for Real Madrid were put in by Ethan Holdsworth and Riley Bouchard. Diego Fleury and Holdsworth both added assists. In the second half, Bouchard and Holdsworth both connected again with goals and Ari Plante assisted on one of them. Devon Ouellette and Zach Judd were solid on defense. Jacob Palmer had an excellent game in the midfield.
Manchester United’s Matthew Smith had his work cut out for him in goal, but he did an exceptional job. Cody Martin and Carter Belanger both controlled play up front and Ryan Austin and Kaden DeMerchant controlled the back.
Barcelona vs. Real Madrid
Barcelona fell to Real Madrid but it was a closer game than the outcome showed. The Barcelona goal was scored by Brevin Barnes, and others playing well were Edie Shea, Livia Bouchard, Sawyer Deprey and Malachai Willey.
Real Madrid’s Ethan Holdsworth put the ball in the net four times in this game. Riley Bouchard and Ari Plante each assisted on goals. Caleb Espling was solid as the goalkeeper and Alexis Gustin, Hailee Jalbert and Josh Fortin all played excellent defense.
