CARIBOU – Robert C. McGill, 73, died peacefully at his Caribou home on March 3, 2015, after a long battle with cancer, surrounded by the love and care of his family. He was born in Cornwall, NY on January 24, 1942, the son of the late Clarence and Edna (Dolan) McGill, Jr.
Bob graduated from Monroe-Woodbury Central High School in 1960. He then joined the United States Air Force retiring as a Master Sargent after 26 years. He completed non-commissioned officer’s school in 1963, worked at the 42 FMS at Loring Air Force Base and served during the Vietnam Era. He worked at Loring Job Corps and as an account technician at DFAS. He retired from DFAS due to his illness. Bob was a member and Past Master of Caribou Lodge No. 170 A.F. and A.M.
Robert leaves behind his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn Marie (St. Peter) McGill; a son, Anthony McGill and wife, Vickie, a daughter, Debbie McGill, and a son, Eric McGill, all of Caribou, a daughter, Sheila Gustafson and husband, Craig, of New Sweden; two grandchildren, Joshua Cornell and Jenna Gustafson. Mr. McGill was predeceased by a brother, Richard McGill.
