An advocate for working people

To the editor:
I am writing to support the candidacy of Rep. Troy Jackson for the State Senate in District 35. Troy has been my Co-Chair of the Committee on Inland Fisheries and Wildlife in the Maine Legislature and is an excellent leader on our committee. I want people in Aroostook County to know what a strong voice Troy has been on issues of importance to sportsmen and women. He knows how important it is that Maine people continue to have access to our woods and waters and the ability to enjoy our outdoor heritage.
As a paperworker at New Page Mill in Rumford, and a past president of Local 900, I know that Troy is a strong advocate for our natural resource-based industries and for a sensible trade policy to provide fair competition for our mills and forest products industries. He is a true advocate for working people.
Troy is also committed to the future of our state and will work for a fair balance of tax policy and support for investments in our future, and that of our children. He is an advocate for education, transportation infrastructure, and accessible and affordable health care.
Troy is experienced as a legislator and is a passionate advocate for his region. He will continue the tradition of tireless advocacy for Senate District 35 and its residents.
