GRADS – Seven students in the Commercial Driving Academy at Northern Maine Community College completed their coursework and celebrated with a graduation ceremony Jan. 9 with family and friends. Among those taking part in the ceremony were, from left: Dennis Dyer, program coordinator; graduates Michelle Heath of Sherman, Derrick Violette of Island Falls, Mark Cyr of Caribou, Michael Warner of Chapman, Kevin McKinnon of Presque Isle, Kendel Simpson of Mapleton, and Chad Dow of Bridgewater; and Chris Gura, range instructor. The comprehensive 230-hour program provides training for entry-level tractor trailer drivers, focusing on safety and professionalism. The next course begins Jan. 26.
