Walking hours
    Walking hours at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center through Sept. 30 are 6 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Outdoor pool closed
    The outdoor swimming pool is now closed for the season.
Funtown/Splashtown and Water Country tickets
    Discount tickets for the 2009 summer season are on sale at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. The fee for Funtown/Splashtown combo ticket is $26 each and for Water Country tickets are $28 each.
Pee wee soccer
    The grades 3-4 and grades 5-6 soccer program is accepting registrations for its upcoming season. The fee is $6.50 and is due at registration, which must be completed in person at the recreation center. All players registered for the league should plan to meet at the Wellness and Recreation Center at 6 p.m. tonight to meet with coaches, get schedules and review league rules and regulations. Games will begin the week of Aug. 17.
    Coaches are also needed for this year’s league. Call 493-4224 if interested in volunteering.
Grades 1-2 soccer
    The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for its grades 1-2 soccer program.
    The program runs from Sept. 1-Oct. 1 and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4:30 p.m. at Hilltop School. In the event of rainy weather, the program will be held at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center. Pre-registration is required for this program.
CRX September edition
    New this fall, the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is offering a traveling outdoor recreation program for youths in grades 5-8. Activities include hiking, biking and fishing and culminating on a September weekend with a two-night camping adventure to Deboullie Public Reserve Land in the North Maine Woods.
    Program participants will be required to have a bike in good working condition. The program is contingent upon successful registration and is limited to the first 12 to sign up. The program runs from Aug. 27 through Sept. 29 and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-5 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
Ultimate Frisbee
    From beginner to the elite player, Ultimate Frisbee is a terrific sport which offers challenges at all levels of play. Ultimate Frisbee combines the athletic skills of running, catching and throwing. Come join in on one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
    Ultimate Frisbee is for grades 5-8 and meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-4:30 p.m. from Sept. 2-28. Pre-registration is required for this program.
