Men’s health program returns

Clarence Jones, master of Monument Lodge of Masons, has announced that the lodge will hold a series of suppers and men’s health programs the last Wednesday of February, March and April.
Jones said he and the lodge members “are really excited about this outreach program for the men of southern Aroostook.” Jones added: “We will be learning about health issues important for all of us while enjoying good fellowship.”
Speakers will include Dr. Ted Sussman on men’s health issues, Dr. Karl Woods on dental hygiene issues and Dr. Robert Ellis, on eye issues and telltale signs to watch.
Dick Rhoda, chairman of the programs, said that two years ago one local businessman got a family doctor for himself for the first time after hearing Dr. Sussman speak. Rhoda said “Dr. Sussman was so challenging and brought such a positive program that we knew we had to have him back.”
“Dr. Woods will speak on important dental issues beyond mother’s old admonition to ‘Brush your teeth after each meal,’” said Rhoda.
Ellis will conclude the series in April. He will speak on eye care issues relative to loss of good vision with advancing age.
All programs will be preceded by a 6 p.m. supper with the evening being concluded by 8:30 p.m.
Rhoda said, “All men of the southern Aroostook area are strongly encouraged to attend. You don’t have to be a Mason. Just come and learn and enjoy.”
