Travelers planning trips outside the United States who have yet to purchase a passport will now have to come up with a bit more cash, due to an increase in fees for the documents that went into effect July 13.
The new rate increases will be as follows:
• Adult (16 and over) passport book was $75 for U.S. Department of State (plus $25 execution fee), it will increase to $110 (plus $25 execution fee);
• Minor (15 and under) passport book was $60 for U.S Department of State (plus $25 execution fee), it will increase to $80 (plus $25 execution fee);
• Adult (16 and over) passcard was $20 for U.S. Department of State (plus $25 execution fee); it will now be $30 (plus $25 execution fee); and
• Minor (15 and under) passcard which was $10 for U.S. Department of State (plus $25 execution fee), will now cost $15 (plus $25 execution fee).
Other increases also take effect on July 13.
Additional visa pages for passport books were free prior to July 13. Effective Tuesday, it will cost $82 to add additional visa pages.
