Benefit supper planned Oct. 16
for stroke victim

There will be a spaghetti benefit supper on Oct. 16 for Jamie Scanlin at the Odd Fellow’s Hall in Easton.
It will be held from 4-7 p.m. This supper will be sponsored by the Easton Kiwanis Club, Easton FFA and the Easton Key Club. Jamie had a severe stroke back in May and was hospitalized in Bangor and then TAMC for rehabilitation for several weeks. He is improving.
Please come out and show your support to Jamie.
Thomas Daniel King was born on Sept. 10 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor to Andrew and Nichole King. Andrew, Nichole and little Thomas Daniel live in Charleston now. Thomas Daniel’s grandmother is Leonna King, of Easton. Congratulations to you all. Thomas also has an older brother, Blake, who helps take good care of him.
The Easton Little School Restoration Committee is looking for donations of good used things to have in their yard sale. Please, no clothing or electronics.
If you have something that you would like to donate, please call Heidi Thompson today at 488-4991 for drop-off location. The sale will be held at the Easton Elementary School cafeteria on Friday, Oct. 1 and Saturday, Oct. 2, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
On Sept. 22, Mary Wilcox, Justice Kneeland, Linda Ball, Marilyn Richardson, James Haines, Yvonne Pelletier, Makayla Richardson and Angelica Burlock all have a birthday.
On Sept. 23, Christy Tompkins has a birthday. Happy anniversary wishes go out to Lori and Derek Silvia on that day as well.
You can wish Jeff Blackstone a happy birthday on Sept. 24. Also John and Karen Schroder and Arida and Ed Clark have an anniversary on that day.
On Sept. 25, James Fitzherbert and Dayanaira Tompkins will be another year older. Also Alan and Tabitha Dudley and Vicki and Lee Saucier will celebrate their anniversaries.
Fern Hull, Lewis Fuller, Brian MaNamara, Mark Wakefield, Chad Coffin, Wayne Brown, Billy Holmes Jr., Donna J. Brigman and Ashley Rae Embelton all have a birthday on Sept. 26.
Von Perry, Lois Haines and Nathan Beaton will be celebrating their birthdays on Sept. 27.
On Sept. 28, Kendra Polson, Merle Lamoreau Jr., Ethen Luciano, Hillary Cleaves and Mitchell Flewelling all have birthdays.

The Easton Happy Days Senior Citizens’ Club will be going to Rosette’s Restaurant in Frenchville on Sept. 23. The bus will be leaving the Manor at 9:30 a.m. All senior citizens are welcome and encouraged to come.

Border Patrol
The seniors’ group from the Easton Recreation Department recently toured the new Border Patrol station in Fort Fairfield. Thanks to Patrol Agent in Charge Dennis Harmon for the informative tour. Wednesday, Sept. 22 — All-day field trip to Greenland Point Adventure Center in Princeton. The bus will depart at 7:45 a.m. and return at 6:30 p.m. The cost is $5 and participants need a bag lunch and money for supper. Activities will include kayaking, canoeing, fishing, shooting arrows, going on a scavenger hunt and team-building challenges.
Thursday, Sept. 23 — Jewelry making with Barbara York at the hall from 9-11 a.m. The cost is $3. Horse camp from 1-3 p.m., carpool from the hall at 12:35 p.m. and return at 3:20 p.m. Third- and fourth-grade soccer at Mars Hill at 3:45 p.m. Carpool from the hall at 3:20 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 24 — Paintball in Canada; the bus departs at 9:10 a.m. and will return at 12:20 p.m. The cost is $25 for children 12 and up and $15 for children under 12. Birth certificate and release form required. Swim lessons will be held at the Presque Isle Indoor Pool. The bus departs at 12:30 p.m. and will return at 2:20 p.m.
Saturday, Sept. 25 — Grades 5 and 6 soccer round robin in Limestone. Times TBA.
Monday, Sept. 27 — Swim lessons from 12:30-2:20 p.m. Cooking camp at the hall from 3-4:30 p.m. Pre-registration required.
Tuesday, Sept. 28 — Playgroup for children in kindergarten and younger at the hall from 8:30-9:45 a.m. Kickball vs. Mars Hill at 10 a.m. for grades 4 through 8. Please wear an Easton T-shirt. Garden Group from 2-3:15 p.m. at the hall. Cooking camp at the hall from 3-4:30 p.m. Grades 5 and 6 soccer practices from 5:30-6:45 p.m. on the girls’ soccer field.
Zumba Gold — Zumba class (for ages 12+) will begin on Oct. 18 and end on Nov. 22. Class will meet every Monday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. in the elementary school gym. The cost is $25 for six weeks of lessons. Theresa Bonner has recently earned her certification to teach the class and she is very excited to get started. This class will be lower impact, easy-to-follow, Latin-inspired dance fitness-party™ that keeps you in the groove of life. Please make childcare arrangements for your children. Registration will begin immediately at the Town Office.
Swimming Lessons — Swim lessons will be held at the Presque Isle Indoor Pool and are open to those ages 4 and older. Students will be split by abilities. All lessons will be 50 minutes (with the exception of the youngest group running 30 minutes). Lessons will take place on: Mondays and Fridays at 1 p.m. from Sept. 17 through Oct. 8. The bus departs at12:30 p.m. and will return at 2:20 p.m. The cost is $21 ($17 for additional child).
Fabulous Fall Cooking — Taught by Chris Finnemore, University of Maine Cooperative Ext. Cooking camp will be offered Sept. 27-30 at the Odd Fellows Hall in Easton. The cost is $10. Open to grades 1 and up. Space is limited to 15 participants. This year’s theme will be pumpkin recipes. The children will be serving the seniors dinner on Thursday evening at 5 p.m. Please feel free to invite grandparents or other special folks. The cost is $2.
