    Shields, Charles L., 76, January 5, 2012.  Interment to be held in the Hodgdon Cemetery in the spring.
PT Charles ShieldsAmerican Flag Color    Charles Shields, 76, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jan. 5, 2012 at the Houlton Regional Hospital. Born to Kenneth and Eleanor (Stockford) Shields in Hodgdon, he graduated from Piscataquis High School in Dover-Foxcroft. He entered the U.S. Army from 1957-1960. He retired from Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida in 1997.
    He is survived by two sons, Charles, Jr of Texas and Mark of Iowa; two daughters, Lisa and Joni of Texas. He is also survived by a very special companion, Sadie Shields of Linneus; two sisters, Helen and Weaver Campbell, Doaktown, N.B., Verna Kervin and companion Bob of Houlton; brother, Joseph and Judy, CT; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; one aunt, Dawn Knapp of Houlton.
    He was predeceased by his parents and one son, Scott, of Texas. He was also predeceased by a brother, Leonard of Linneus; two nephews; and three nieces.
    We wish to thank Internal Medicine office staff and especially Dr. Abouliesh, the HRH Hospital staff and his “special nurses” at Long Term Care. Special thank you to Revs. Bernie and Elaine Jordan for the countless hours spent with Charles and The Fruit of the Spirit Church in Linneus and the singers that went to sing his favorite hymns to him. For all the prayers, cards, and flowers. Special thanks to Bowers Funeral Home. Interment will be held in the spring at the Hodgdon Cemetery.
    Charles will be sadly missed, loved, and never forgotten.
