BOUNTIFUL TREASURES — I chose this photo because it captures the highly-valued Maine wilderness. On top of Haystack Mountain, the beams of sunlight shine through the small tree, giving the photo emotion. The photo has an overview of Mapleton and its woods — some things are meant to be seen from different views to recognize their significance.
CLOSE TO NATURE — This photo was part of my point of focus assignment. It was taken in my back yard and it’s of a bird nest in an evergreen tree. It represents how close Maine actually is to nature and the great outdoors.
IN FOCUS — I picked this photo because it has very good contrast and the bird’s nest is the clear focus. I also chose it because is shows the rule of thirds. This was from our fall photography assignment.
INSPIRATION — The assignment was to take photographs of the sky during various times of the day. It was on a crisp Saturday evening in the fabulous city of Presque Isle. The air was light and the sky was a burnt copper tone. The location of this specific masterpiece of a photo was on the railroad tracks near the Northern Maine Regional Airport. It was such an inspiring time of the year for all aspiring photographers.
PARISIAN HOLIDAY — What I like about this picture is it captures the winter months in France and all of the little Christmas markets, and how the sun hits the Eiffel Tower and makes it the gold/chocolate color. This picture was taken in France when I went there for the holidays.
