THE WINNERS — Stephanie Graves, left, and Welly Ramsey were the overall winners in the second annual Friends in Motion 5k race held at Mantle Lake in Presque Isle on Saturday.

Welly Ramsey was the first, of nearly 150 competitors, to cross the finish line. Ramsey finished in a time of 16.43.

Fred Bailey and Thomas Beckum finished second and third respectively.

The womens’ division winner was Stephanie Graves in a time of 21.06, followed by Katrina Howe and Marie Beckum.

Prior to the 5k a fun run was held for little kids. The course was one trip around the path at the park. Roughly 40 youngsters took part in that run and all competitors earned a medal.

Friends in Motion is a collaboration of some young mothers who wanted to help the community. Last year the donation was made to a different organization.
