Lifeguard courses being offered at Indoor Pool
The Presque Isle Indoor Pool is having a lifeguard course on May 18, 19, 20, and 27. The first class is Friday night from 5-9 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 9 – 5 p.m. The cost for this course is $200 with a $50 deposit due by May 17.
The final lifeguard course before summer will be offered June 19, 20, 21 and 22. This course is a Tuesday through Friday from 9 – 5 p.m. This course is $200 with a $50 deposit due by June 14.
All course participants must be able to pass the pre-requisites which includes a 300 yard swim, treading water using only legs, complete a timed event to retrieve a 10 pound brick from the deep end of the pool and must show proof that they are 15 years of age by the last day of the lifeguard course.
A Water Safety Instructors (WSI) course will be offered June 19, 20, 21 and 22 from 9 – 5 p.m. This course will be $200 with a $50 deposit due but June 16. Participants must be 16 years of age by the end of the course.
A lifeguard Review with CPR will be Monday, June 18 from 9 – 5 p.m. This course will be $75 with a $25 deposit by June 14.
A CPR review course will be offered Friday, June 15 from 1 – 5 p.m. This course will be $50 with a $25 deposit due by June 12.
