On May 1, libraries around the state celebrated Law Day by having lawyers meet with the public to discuss how to find legal help when needed as part of the Lawyers in Libraries program. The Caribou Public Library participated in the event with Dan Umphrey of Caribou law firm Solman & Hunter speaking with the audience about topics such as where to go for help if you have a legal problem, how to access free and fee-based legal help, what kinds of legal services are available and how important it is to the community for everyone to have access to this kind of information. Umphrey, shown here addressing the group, also met with participants to answer legal questions one-on-one. There was no fee for attending.
