Role models helping others
By Lucas Craig
Sophomore Ashland District School

The National Honor Society is one of the most important organizations my school has to offer.
NHS represents the best students of the school, due to their character, scholarship, leadership, and service.
To be recognized as a good student and a well-rounded person is great, though it is more than that. NHS embodies what it means to be a role model. Other students have a way to know whom to look up to. NHS gives its members a way to be recognized and to help others, whether it’s hosting a blood drive or volunteering at the Special Olympics, which is what’s truly important.
Overall, NHS is an important group of role models that are known for helping others.

Being generous to others
By Caitlin Paradis
Junior at Ashland District School

I believe National Honor Society is one of the most prestigious achievements for a student in high school.
As a current member, I believe NHS is more than just a title. It is the recognition of a student’s outstanding service and character, along with scholarly excellence in school, and great leadership skills.
This organization sets a goal for students to enhance these four main factors that will be helpful throughout life. I conclude that, as stated by the National Honor Society motto, “Noblesse Oblige,” we are obligated to be generous to others and provide service to the community and to those less fortunate.

Why NHS is important to me
By Jasmine Clark
Senior at Ashland District School

To me, the National Honor Society is an organization that brings students together to help give back to their community. NHS gives its members a chance to meet new people, and it shows each member how to be a great leader.
NHS is important to me because it gives me a chance to meet new people, learn leadership skills, give back to the community, and donate to different charities.

NHS: A sense of community and charity
By Cassidy Pelletier
Sophomore at Ashland District School

As indicated by its name, the National Honor Society is a highly honorable group in which hard-working students may meet new friends and give back to their community. I was inducted only two weeks ago, but I can already recognize the sense of community and charity in the society.
The NHS gives students an opportunity to work together to help others and partake in local events. Doing this gives us the skills we will need to cooperate with others in the future, as well as the desire to give to others.
I am proud to call myself a member of the NHS.
