Easter egg hunt and community breakfast
set for this weekend

 EASTON NEWS

On Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 9 a.m., the Easton Recreation Department will host its annual community breakfast followed by an Easter egg hunt for children in sixth grade and under.

Hot breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. in the elementary school cafeteria with the egg hunt to follow (inside for younger children and outside for the older ones, weather permitting).
There are 2,000 eggs ready to go. Bring a basket to collect your goodies. Two Easter baskets will be raffled. Breakfast is open to the Easton community and a donation will be taken to help cover the cost of food and supplies. We will have some special guests! Don’t forget your camera. For more information, contact the recreation department at recreation@eastonme.com.

Little School update

The Little School Restoration Committee will resume its monthly meetings this month. Restoration projects for the year ahead include replacing missing wainscoting throughout the school and painting the back of the building. Completing the move of the Historical Society to the school is also a goal for 2016.
An all-out effort that was made last year to prepare the school for the Sesquicentennial celebrations resulted in the completion of many projects including the addition of The Little School Community Park next to the school with a gazebo and six park benches, a handicap ramp, repair of windows in both classrooms, painting, refinishing of the floor in the grade two classroom and the addition of seats and a TV in the grade two coatroom for the viewing of historical pictures of the school.
The committee also held a spaghetti supper during the All School Reunion and hosted the first town-sponsored Community Christmas Tree Lighting in the Community Park.
Anyone interested in helping with the restoration can contact Bryan at 551-5849. Financial contributions are also welcome and may be sent to Little School Restoration Project, P.O. Box 274, Easton, ME 04740.
