ORONO, Maine — Thomas Beckum of Caribou competed in the USA Track and Field Maine Assocation Indoor Track and Field Championships Feb. 28, 2016, placing third overall in the mile in 4 minutes and 58 seconds.
His time in the mile ranks him 14th in the nation and 16th in the world in his age division, while he is also 15th nationally and 36th in the world in the 400-meter run after his time of 1:01.55 in his heat.
Beckum, a teacher in RSU 39, is the girls’ cross country running coach at Caribou High School.
