In celebration of 175 years of doing business in 2019, the S.W. Collins Co. is seeking assistance in donating $20,000 to local causes throughout the year in each of the five greater communities in which they live and work. Local non-profit organizations are encouraged to apply for funding consideration by visiting the company’s website for an application. An organization can apply as a cause alone or it can be for a specific project or event.
The retail locations in Fort Kent, Caribou, Presque Isle, Houlton and Lincoln will each have $1,000 per quarter donated to three local community priorities. Store customers will decide which project to support by voting with their purchasing dollars. Customers will receive one token for each $50 spent that they can deposit in the tube labeled with the cause of their choice at the donation station located at the front of each store. At the end of each quarter, the $1,000 will be prorated based on the number of tokens to each of the local causes. The special donations this year are in addition to other many charitable donations made by the S. W. Collins Co. and will begin Jan. 2.

Collins. “Each of us have a responsibility to build up our community and our customers will help us set the priorities.”
