CARIBOU, Maine — The National Weather Service in Caribou has issued a wind advisory, which is in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. EDT on Thursday, April 4, 2019.
Forecasters expect west to northwest winds from 20 to 30 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph. The advisory covers northwest, northeast and southeast Aroostook County, as well as portions of the rest of the state.
Strong winds may blow down limbs, trees and power lines. Scattered power outages may result.
According to the NWS, a wind advisory means that wind gusts of 40 to 50 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high-profile vehicles. Motorists should use extra caution.
