On Saturday, April 13, the Mapleton Daze Committee hosted their annual Spring Craft/Vendor Fair at the Mapleton Lions Hall.
The committee thanked all who attended and said the support they received ensures the ongoing success of Mapleton Daze, now in its 30 year. Folks attending praised the quality and selection of items available at the fair.
The committee announced there would be a crafter/vendor fair during the Daze on Saturday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Mapleton Elementary School playground, outside, rain or shine. Those who wish to participate need to let the committee know. There is no cost for crafters and vendors to have a space, but they must complete an application and submit it before June 1. Contact the committee through their Facebook page and they will send an application.
Daze T-shirts

Church fundraiser
The West Chapman Advent Christian Church will host “Grub & Games” on Saturday, April 27, at 5:30 p.m.
This fundraiser will feature a variety of soups, breads and desserts. Bring your own bowl. Supper will be followed by a time of fellowship and playing board games of all types.
All donations will benefit the church’s renovation project on its new entryway, as well as improving handicapped accessibility to the entire building.
All are welcome to join the fun.
Seniors host Red Hats
The Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill Seniors held a special luncheon with the Mapleton Red Hat Ladies as their guests on Monday, April 15.
The Red Hat Ladies were recognized for their community service to Mapleton, Chapman and Castle Hill residents. To honor them, senior member Terry Sandusky led everyone in a “Christmas in April” Yankee Swap of special gifts provided by the seniors group. Everyone had a fun time.
The next luncheon will be held at the Mapleton United Methodist Church at 11:30 a.m. on May 6. This is a potluck luncheon, so bring a dish to place alongside the terrific home cooking of your neighbors.
At this meeting the group will plan its Memorial Day food sale at the Mapleton Lions Memorial Day Parade and play some rousing bingo games. Everyone over 50 is welcome.
First Friday Lunch
The monthly First Friday Luncheon will be held Friday, May 3, at the Mapleton Methodist Church. Spring will be in full swing and the chefs will plan a surprise luncheon. The real joy is sharing a meal with longtime friends as well as making new friends, sharing family updates, and telling stories.
There is no charge for the lunch, but donations will be accepted.
Correction
In a photo that ran in last week’s column, showing the Chapman Select Board, town meeting moderator Mike Ireland’s name was inadvertently omitted. We regret the error.
