To the editor:
Why is it that in the U.S. military, all branches, service members not acting on their best behavior can be charged and prosecuted for conduct unbecoming all the while the people who control the military can act and do anything they want? There is no real consequence for our legislators who act in a manner that is not appropriate.
The things that Marjorie Taylor Greene, Lauren Boebert, Matt Gaetz, Ted Cruz and many others do daily, that are unacceptable, seem to go unchecked. This double standard needs to stop. These people have destroyed the way the world looks at the United States.
Where and when does this stop? Is this the new normal?
Greene stated people of color are being held down by their own actions of drug dealing and gang fighting and thievery. There are also Boebert’s recent disgraceful display in a public theater, Matt Gaetz’ alleged relationship with underage girls and Ted Cruz abandoning his state of Texas to go on a Mexican vacation while the state was in crisis.
All this and more from these government officials as well as Santos with his lying to get elected, and theft from military veterans. You can group most of these people into a category called MAGA.
The people in charge should be held to the same standards of conduct as the people they make the rules for.
