3-Day Outlook: Wednesday, Sept. 27-Friday, Sept. 29

A 1030-mb (30.42-in) ridge of high pressure is firmly ensconced over Quebec and will continue to control the Saint John Valley’s weather for the remainder of the week. Mostly clear skies with patchy river fog during the overnight hours are expected. Valley residents can expect highs in the low 70s with overnight lows in the lower 40s tonight and Thursday night with lows in the middle 40s Friday night.

Today: Patchy fog before 10 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 70. North wind 3 to 5 mph.

Tonight: Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, clear, with a low around 41. Calm wind.

Thursday: Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, sunny, with a high near 73. Calm wind becoming northwest around 6 mph in the afternoon.

Thursday Night: Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, mostly clear, with a low around 42. Calm wind.

Friday: Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 73. Light west wind.

Friday Night: Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 45. Calm wind. 

4- to 7-Day Outlook: Saturday, Sept. 30-Tuesday, Oct. 3

High pressure will slowly drift southwards during the period keeping mostly sunny skies across the SJV Saturday into Sunday. A weak cold front approaches Sunday into Monday with partly cloudy skies developing along with some isolated shower activity Monday afternoon and Monday night. A new ridge of high pressure builds in from Quebec Tuesday with a return to mostly sunny skies. 

High temperatures are expected in the middle 70s Saturday and the lower 70s Sunday and Monday then the middle 60s Tuesday. Overnight lows in the upper 40s Saturday night and the lower 50s Sunday night and Monday night. Temperatures then dip into the mid-40s Tuesday night.

Monday Night: A slight chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 51. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 67.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear with a low around 46.
