Firefighters quickly put out a fire at a residence on Albair Road in Caribou Thursday.

The fire at the two-story log home at 967 Albair Road started around 11 a.m. with fire crews arriving at 11:16 a.m., according to a Caribou Fire and Ambulance Department official. Smoke was coming from the front porch and eaves when they arrived.

Limestone and Fort Fairfield crews assisted at the scene. Firefighters believe hot ashes from a wood pellet stove that were left on the porch ignited the fire, which was quickly extinguished. As of 12:10 p.m. firefighters were cleaning up the site. They cleared the scene just before 1 p.m.

No one was home when the fire broke out and no injuries have been reported.

Caribou Police Department sectioned off the road beginning at Cross Road that intersects with Albair Road.
