PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — NorState Federal Credit Union has extended its support to the Presque Isle Rotary Club’s amphitheater project with a recent $10,000 donation. The club’s project is continuing to gain positive momentum since beginning their large fundraising push in mid-October and club members are appreciative of the initial donations and additional support that continues to come in from community members.
“NorState FCU is proud to be a financial partner with the PI Rotary Club as they raise funds for the amphitheater project in Presque Isle,” says Jeffrey Davenport, NorState Federal Credit Union president & CEO. “The Rotary’s mission of bringing the community together through different types of life enriching and special events, while continually giving back to the communities they serve, aligns perfectly with the overall mission of NorState FCU. For these reasons, we are excited to play a part in this worthwhile, community project which would help enrich the lives of all community members in the area.”
The amphitheater will be located in downtown Presque Isle and will have grassy, level ground surrounding it to allow for plenty of seating at gatherings, concerts, and plays. The Rotary Club hopes that the amphitheater continues the positive momentum that has occurred in this part of the city over the last several years.
“It is really exciting to see the incredible generosity and steady support of this project, both from our businesses and individuals in the community” adds Jordyn Madore, the 2023-24 PI Rotary Club president and co-chair of the PI rotary amphitheater committee. “The amphitheater is a concept that had been floating around for several years before we decided to make our wishes a reality during our 100th anniversary year, but you never know what the reception will be on a project of this scale. Clearly, we all have a common interest in supporting our existing projects, expanding arts and culture opportunities, and investing in this community we all call home.”
Groundbreaking will happen once the project is fully funded. With this donation, the club has received about $60,000 and is actively seeking donations. All donors of $250 or more will be recognized with a name plate affixed to the amphitheater. To learn more about this project and make a contribution, visit www.presqueislerotary.org/amphitheater.
