Mark your calendars for April 20. We will once again be hosting our popular fundraiser, Toast to the Animals, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Northeastland Hotel.
We are changing it up just a bit, but the evening will see the return of our exciting silent auction with many new and unique items that have been generously donated. We will have a cash bar, along with some light refreshments, door prizes and our fun lottery board raffle.
Tickets are $25 at the door and all over 21 are welcome. All proceeds will go toward our new building project.
As we have done in the past, we will be offering two levels of sponsorship, which helps us to put on this event. Becoming a Friend to Animals Sponsor for $100 gives you two tickets (a $50 value) and numerous recognitions as a sponsor. A Top Dog or Fat Cat sponsorship is $500 and gives you eight tickets (a $200 value), a reserved VIP table at the event with seating for eight, and numerous sponsor recognitions.

Now for an update on our new building. The crews have been working most of the winter on our new shelter and we can’t express enough how excited we are to see this happening. To know that we will soon have a new, safe and energy-efficient building is something many of us have dreamed of for years. There are so many people and businesses who have donated and supported this project from the very beginning.
We have had a few surprises along the way, especially the last-minute addition and expense of the sprinkler and alarm system, but it was an absolute necessity to have this system installed to secure the safety of the building, employees and certainly the animals, especially if tragedy struck after operating hours.
We will continue to keep you posted on this exciting project.
