‘Ride the Cyclone’: A thrilling theatrical experience comes to Presque Isle

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Prepare for an unforgettable journey as The County Community Players proudly announce its upcoming production of “Ride the Cyclone”, the critically acclaimed musical that has captivated audiences with its blend of humor, heart, and haunting melodies. Show dates are September 13, 14, 20 and 21 at  UMPI’s Gauvin Family Center for Cultural Arts. Adult tickets are $15 and are available for purchase at Gallagher Insurance, Maine Bean & Tea, Goin Postal, and online at thecountyplayers.org.

“Ride the Cyclone” is a unique and exhilarating musical created by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell. Set in the wake of a tragic carnival ride accident, the story follows six teenagers from a small town who find themselves in a surreal and otherworldly competition for a second chance at life. As they confront their own desires, fears, and regrets, they come to terms with what it 

truly means to live and to die.

“’Ride the Cyclone’ is a testament to the power of storytelling and the resilience of the human spirit,” said Danica Haskell, the director of this production. “We have a terrific cast of young people from Fort Kent to Presque Isle and we’re looking forward to bringing this unique story to Aroostook County.”

The musical features an eclectic score that ranges from infectious pop tunes to poignant ballads, all performed by a talented Aroostook County cast. In addition to its engaging storyline and music, “Ride the Cyclone” is praised for its exploration of themes such as identity, mortality, and the quest for meaning. It challenges audiences to reflect on their own lives while being entertained by its fast-paced, inventive approach. Please note this show is rated R for language.
