A number of Aroostook County Boy Scouts recently received their Ad Altare Dei emblems at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle.
To attain this recognition, which means “to the altar of God,” Catholic Scouts work with spiritual leaders for six to eight months as they progress through activities in the Ad Altare Dei Youth Manual, with the aim of growing in their relationship to God and the church. Fr. Dave Raymond, pastor of the Parish of the Precious Blood, taught the group, while Peter Deschenes, religious emblems coordinator for the Scouts’ Northstar District, served as counselor.
