Two-vehicle crash near Caribou inn leads to minor injuries

CARIBOU, Maine – A two-vehicle collision briefly closed roads near the Caribou Inn and Convention Center Thursday evening.

At around 5:15 p.m., Charles Forsman was driving north on Route 1 in Caribou when he struck the front of a vehicle driven by James Stepp, who was driving south on Route 1. The crash occurred near the intersection of Route 1 and Main Street in front of the Caribou Inn and Convention Center.

The crash closed Route 1 for 30 minutes as police and ambulance crews responded. Both vehicles were towed away due to extensive damage and one of the drivers was transported to Cary Medical Center in Caribou for minor injuries, said Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan.
