LINNEUS – Robert E. Kitchen, 81, died January 25, 2015, in Bangor. He was born April 24, 1933, in Weston, the son of Willard and Inez (Rollins) Kitchen.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the USS Shenandoah. He was the co-owner of Kitchen’s Garage for 44 years, a member of the Houlton Lions Club, the Oddfellows and the Linneus Snowsled Club.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Gloria (Bradeen) Kitchen of Linneus; five children, Inez McLean of Easton, Wanda Kitchen of Houlton, Sandra Sanders and her husband, Gary, of Linneus, Bruce Kitchen and his wife, Mary, of Hodgdon, and Brent Kitchen and his wife, Jeannie, of Baileyville, NC; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, especially grand-daughter, Blanche and Patrick Russell; a sister, Barbara Truran of Guilford; several special friends, Mike and Kim Folsom and Sonny and Diane Folsom. He was predeceased by his parents; two sons, Robert Jr. and Michael; a daughter, Deborah; sisters, Violet and Dorothy; and brother, John.
Friends may call 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. on Thursday, January 29 at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Wayne Robertson officiating.
