Grades 1-2 basketball

A taste of basketball with fundamentals and modified games, this program meets Mondays and Wednesdays from 3-4:30 pm at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.  There are two sessions being offered for grades 1 and 2. Session I meets Oct. 18 through Nov. 17 and session II meets Nov. 29 through Jan. 5. A child may only be registered for one session and must be placed on a waiting list for the second session. Pre-registration is required.

 

Presque Isle School Farm and Putnam’s Pumpkin Patch

On Thursday, Oct. 7, the Take It Outside Series trip is to the Presque Isle School Farm and a tour of their fine facility. Following a break for lunch, the trip will resume with a visit to Putnam’s Pumpkin Patch in Mapleton for a horse-drawn wagon ride, a pumpkin hunt and refreshments. The fee for this outing  is $10 per person. Participants are asked to bring a bag lunch. Pre-registration is required.

Volunteers sought for Halloween Party

The Caribou Parks and Recreation Department is currently seeking volunteers to assist with the annual Halloween Party slated for Sunday, Oct. 31. Parks and recreation officials are seeking individuals, businesses or organizations that would be interested in providing a game or activity during the two-hour event.
